One of the best direct replacements for the Landis & Gyr RWB200, is the Siemens RWB2007. Controlling both heating and hot water, It has similar features and will fit the exisiting backplate (industry standard) that came with the RWB200. This makes the swap over potentially very quick and with minimal hassle. Some of the features the RWB2007 has include: Easy to read large blue display screen, 7-Day (5/2 Or 7 Day) programming, Two Channels, up to 3 on / off periods each day, Boost and Advance options.

If you are replacing your RWB200 Timeswitch because it has stopped saving programmed settings, or something similar, please be aware that this can be down to an expired Ni-Cad internal battery. If this is the case you may not need to replace the whole unit with a new one. Instead, just buy a new battery. The battery required is the Varta 2/V60R.

This can save you the cost of buying a new timer, so is well worth exploring if you suspect this could be causing the problem with your old programmer. However, it is not always the case, and many people can not be bothered with the labour fitting a new battery will require. Add to that the Varta 2/V60R is slightly harder to obtain than many of the more common internal batteries. However, it’s not too hard to find for sale online. You can buy a replacement here.

Worth being mentioned: The Blue display on the Siemens RWB2007 is always lit up. Some people prefer a programmer where the screen is dim when not in use, and a button has to be pressed that lights the screen up. But the RWB2007’s light is constantly on.

This is just something to be aware of. Not a problem, just more of a personal preference. Siemens make very good timers / programmers, and this one is no exception. It has great reviews wherever you look and is well-know for being easy to use. The RWB2007 will also replace many other older model Landis & Gyr timers.
